1. Introduction

Thank you for using Love Questions for Couples (the “App”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use the App.

We respect your privacy and process only the data needed to provide the App’s features, including question decks, AI Insight relationship analysis, daily couple compatibility forecasts, saving share cards to Photos, and in-app purchases managed through RevenueCat and Apple. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

2. Data We Collect

The App works without requiring you to create a personal account. We do not ask for your real legal name, email address, or phone number as part of registration inside the App.

2.1. Anonymous Identifiers

To operate quotas, AI features, and purchases, the App uses:

• An anonymous app-specific client identifier stored securely on your device (Keychain) and sent to our backend as X-Client-Id.
• A matching RevenueCat App User ID (the same anonymous identifier), used to link purchases to your device / App Store account.
• Standard Apple in-app purchase identifiers (product identifiers, transaction IDs generated by Apple).

These identifiers do not include your real name, email address, or phone number by default.

2.2. Content You Enter for App Features

Depending on which features you use, you may voluntarily provide content that is processed to deliver results:

• AI Insight: your selected language and answers to relationship questions (for example, multiple-choice responses about closeness, communication, and shared goals).
• Compatibility Daily: zodiac signs for you and your partner, optional first names, relationship status, preferred language, and device timezone (used to determine the local “day” for daily forecasts and resets).
• Saved analyses / local preferences: content you choose to keep in the App’s library or local settings on your device.

Optional names are used only to personalize your couple experience and share cards. Please avoid entering sensitive personal data you do not want processed.

2.3. AI Processing Data

When you request an AI Insight analysis or a daily compatibility forecast, relevant inputs are sent to our backend servers and then to an AI language model provider (currently OpenAI) to generate the result. This may include:

• Your anonymous client identifier and request metadata (language, timezone, idempotency keys).
• For Insight: question answers required to produce the analysis.
• For Compatibility: your saved couple profile (signs, optional names, relationship status) and language.
• Generated outputs (titles, summaries, scores, tips, and related AI text), which may be cached so the same day’s forecast can be reopened without regenerating.

AI providers process this data only to generate the requested output for the App. We apply usage limits (free and Plus) to prevent abuse and control costs.

2.4. Photos (Share Cards)

If you choose to save a share card, the App creates an image on your device and requests permission to add it to your Photo Library. Images are saved locally on your device. We do not upload your photo library to our servers for this feature.

2.5. Purchase & Subscription Data

When you buy or restore a purchase, Apple and RevenueCat may process:

• Product identifier (for example: Lifetime, Weekly, Annual).
• Purchase date, renewal status and expiration date.
• Country or region of the App Store.
• Information about whether a purchase was refunded or cancelled (if applicable).

We do not see or store your full payment information (such as credit card numbers). Payments are processed entirely by Apple via the App Store.

2.6. Basic App Usage Data

To keep the App functional and improve stability, we may collect limited technical information, such as:

• Device model and operating system version.
• App version and basic interaction / entitlement events.
• Crash information and performance diagnostics.
• API error and quota signals needed to operate AI limits reliably.

2.7. Information You Provide Voluntarily

If you contact us by email at ilushazs@icloud.com, we will receive your email address and any other information you choose to include in your message. We use this information only to respond to your request or support question.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use the data described above for the following purposes:

• To provide core functionality of the App, including question categories, favorites, AI Insight, daily couple forecasts, and share cards.
• To generate AI results via our backend and OpenAI, and to cache daily forecasts so they can be reopened quickly.
• To enforce free and Plus quotas fairly (for example, free lifetime limits and Plus daily limits).
• To verify and restore purchases, including products such as:
  • Lifetime – $39.99 (one-time)
  • Weekly – $3.99 (auto-renewable)
  • Annual – $14.99 (auto-renewable)
  Prices may vary by App Store region and are shown in the App before purchase. Active Plus unlocks premium question categories, AI Insight access according to plan limits, and daily couple forecasts.
• To maintain subscription status via RevenueCat and Apple.
• To fix bugs and improve performance using aggregated usage and crash data.
• To respond to your support requests or questions.

4. Third-Party Services

4.1. Apple App Store & In-App Purchases

The App uses Apple’s in-app purchase system to process payments. Apple may collect and process data as described in Apple’s own privacy policies. We do not control how Apple handles payment data.

4.2. RevenueCat

We use RevenueCat to manage in-app purchases, entitlements, and subscription status. RevenueCat receives anonymous identifiers and purchase-related information as described above. RevenueCat helps us verify purchases, determine Plus access, and restore purchases across devices using the same App Store account. Please consult RevenueCat’s privacy policy for more detail.

4.3. Our Backend Servers

AI Insight and Compatibility Daily features are provided through our backend API. The backend receives your anonymous client identifier and feature inputs, applies quotas, stores/caches results where needed, and returns generated content to the App.

4.4. OpenAI (AI Provider)

We use OpenAI (or a successor AI provider, if replaced) to generate AI Insight analyses and daily compatibility forecasts. Content required for generation is transmitted securely for processing. We do not use this content to sell advertising. OpenAI processes data under its own terms and privacy policy as applicable to API customers.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data and do not share it with advertisers for targeted advertising.

We may share limited data with:

• Service providers such as RevenueCat and OpenAI, solely to operate purchases and AI features.
• Infrastructure providers that host our backend.
• Law enforcement or authorities if required by applicable law.

6. Legal Basis for Processing (EEA/UK Users)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, our legal bases for processing your data may include:

• Performance of a contract: to provide the App, purchases, AI results, and forecasts you request.
• Legitimate interests: to maintain and improve the App, prevent abuse/fraud, enforce quotas, and ensure reliable subscriptions.
• Consent: where required (for example, Photo Library add permission), we request it in the App.

7. Data Retention

We retain data only as long as necessary to:

• Provide AI results, daily forecast caches, quotas, and premium entitlements.
• Maintain accurate purchase/subscription records.
• Comply with legal, accounting, or reporting obligations.
• Respond to support requests you send by email.

Local content stored only on your device (for example, some preferences or saved cards in Photos) remains under your control and can be removed by you.

8. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, loss or misuse, including encrypted transport (HTTPS) for API requests. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children’s Privacy

The App is intended for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age required by local law. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal data, including:

• The right to access the data we hold about you.
• The right to request correction or deletion of your data, where applicable.
• The right to object to certain types of processing or request restriction of processing.
• The right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.

11. International Data Transfers

Our service providers (such as RevenueCat, hosting providers, and OpenAI) may process data on servers located in different countries. Where required by law, appropriate safeguards may be used to protect your data during international transfers.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. In case of material changes, we may also provide an in-app notice.
