Privacy Policy

Roamivo turns outdoor walks into checkpoint-based adventures. This policy explains how the current version handles information. Roamivo is operated by its independent developer ("Roamivo", "we", "us").

1. Short version

The current Roamivo build has no account system, developer-operated backend, advertising, analytics SDK, crash-reporting SDK, or cross-app tracking. Your profile, quest history, active quest state, and walking progress are stored locally on your device. Roamivo uses Apple location and map services to provide the core experience.

2. Information processed on your device

• Location and movement data: precise coordinates, timestamps, horizontal accuracy, speed, route progress, distance walked, and whether movement samples appear consistent with walking.
• Quest data: selected duration and mood, nearby points of interest, route geometry, checkpoints, completion state, XP, trophies, and completed or unfinished results.
• Local profile data: the explorer name you enter and locally calculated statistics.
• App preferences: for example, whether onboarding was completed.
• Saved result cards: an image of a completed quest is generated locally only when you choose to save it.

This information is used to generate a route, guide you to checkpoints, detect progress, recover an interrupted quest, show Live Activity updates, maintain History, and calculate local rewards.

3. Location access and background use

Roamivo requests When In Use location permission when location is needed. During an active walking quest, iOS may continue delivering location updates while the app is in the background or the screen is locked. Background tracking is not started merely because the app is installed. It is reduced or stopped when you pause or end the quest.

You can change location permission at any time in iOS Settings. If access is disabled, route generation and active checkpoint detection may not work. Roamivo is not an emergency, safety, or rescue service.

4. Apple services and purchases

Roamivo uses Core Location, MapKit, Apple Maps points of interest, walking directions, and StoreKit. Map, location-related, and subscription requests may be processed by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy. Apple processes payments and payment credentials; Roamivo does not receive your card or banking details. The app checks signed StoreKit transactions and subscription entitlement status on your device to unlock Plus features.

5. Live Activities

When a quest is active, Roamivo may display the current checkpoint, distance, elapsed time, and XP on the Lock Screen or Dynamic Island. This is delivered locally through ActivityKit in the current build. No remote push updates are used.

If you choose to save a completed quest card, Roamivo asks iOS for add-only Photos access and sends the generated image to the system photo library. The app does not read or browse your existing photos.

6. Information we do not currently collect

The current build does not transmit your profile, quest history, precise walking trail, advertising identifier, contacts, photos, or health data to a Roamivo server. We do not sell personal information, use it for advertising, or track you across apps or websites. RevenueCat, AI services, remote push notifications, and third-party analytics are not integrated in this version.

7. Storage, retention, and deletion

Local profile and completed quest history remain in the app's private iOS container until you remove the app or the data is cleared by a future in-app control. An active session is updated periodically and removed after normal completion; unfinished status may remain so the quest can be recovered. Roamivo has no server copy and cannot restore locally deleted data.

To delete all data stored by the current build, delete Roamivo from your device. Because no Roamivo account or developer database exists, there is no remote account record to delete.

8. Security

Roamivo relies on the iOS application sandbox and system protections for local storage. No method of storage is completely risk-free, so keep your device and passcode secure.

9. Children

Roamivo is not directed to children under 13. Minors should use the app only with permission and appropriate supervision from a parent or guardian, especially during outdoor activity.

10. Future features and policy changes

If accounts, analytics, crash reporting, a backend, AI, or other data-processing features are introduced, this policy and the App Store privacy disclosures will be updated before those features are released. Material changes will be identified by a new effective date.
